Dr. B.J. BENNETT is a
native of Kentucky and spent his high school
days in Gulfport. He has served as pastor
in Mississippi, Louisiana, Kentucky and
Georgia. He previously served as pastor of
First Baptist of Indianola. He holds a
Doctor of Theology and Masters Degree in
pastoral ministry from New Orleans Baptist
Theological Seminary and a BA Degree from
Mississippi College.
He and his wife of
33 years, the former Nancy Carol Stegall (a
native of Madison), have two daughters, Jessica
and Jaime and one son, Justin. They are
also the proud grandparents of Alex.
Philosophy
of Ministry
"The Lord has gifted me
in the ministry areas of preaching and teaching
the Word; prayer; and evangelism. I am one
who retells the Story of God in Community, thus
it is the stories of our lives in this spiritual
journey before us that a preacher and paster
teaches and equips alongside his people to know
and do the will of God."

DERRICK
COWAN, Minister of Worship Arts and
Discipleship, attends Mississippi
College. He has been involved in church
worship leadership and has held various
accompanist positions throughout the state. He
has served on staff at FBC Sumner, FBC Forrest,
and Ogden Baptist Church in Yazoo County. Being
involved in music since he was a child, Derrick
brings to us 15 years of piano study, 6 years of
organ study, 7 years of private voice study and
6 years of choral
experience. |

Director

MRS. GAIL SYKES has served as Director of the FBC
Weekday Ministry for more than six years. Gail
is a native of Jackson, Ms and has more than 20
years of service in the childcare area. She and
her husband, Stan, live in Madison.
