Maybe you are returning to church or coming to church for the very first time.  Or, maybe you're an active church member who just moved to town and needs to find a new church home.  Whatever your story may be, you probably have a lot of questions before you visit First Baptist Church Ridgeland.

Here's our attempt to guess what's on your mind and answer your questions.  If we've missed something, let us know!  You're probably not the only one with that question, so asking us will help us help you and future guests.

What should I wear?

Where do I park?

Will I find a seat?

Is there something for my Kids?

What do I wear?

You'll see people in everything from shorts to suits on Sundays.  Our concern isn't what's on the outside, but what's on the inside.  Come as you are.  Besides, Jesus accepts us as we are when we come to Him.  Why shouldn't we?

Where do I park?

We set aside reserved parking for seniors and expectant mothers in our north parking lot--conveniently located on the north side of West Jackson Street with walkways leading directly to the Welcome Center.  General parking is available in the south parking lot beside the Family Life Center.  For the safety of our members and guests we have partnered with the Ridgeland Police Department to provide traffic caution during all of our services and special events.  Refer to the campus map to see where each of these options is located.

Is there anything for my children?

Of course!  We have Sunday options for newborns through high school seniors, including special times of worship designed just for the younger kids:

  • Preschool Place is for preschoolers birth through age 5 at 8:45 am in     zone 6.  Just follow the banner for children's drop-off.
  • Worship KidStyle is for Kindergartners through 6th graders at 10:00 am in zone 7.  This a separate worship service just for children following children's Sunday school at 8:45.

How will I find a Bible study?

Take a look at our online listing of classes.  That could give you some idea as to where you might want to go.  On Sunday stop by the Welcome Center in the Main Foyer where a greeter will be there to show you a listing of Sunday Bible studies, including a map of where each on is located.  Believe us--our goal is to get every guest and member into a Sunday Bible study so we'll go out of our way to help you get connected!

Your buildings are spread out.  How will I find my way around?

A thorough wayfinding system with great maps and signage will help a lot.  But the best way is to stop by the Welcome Center in the Main Foyer where a volunteer from our First Impressions team (wearing snazzy FBCR nametags) will love to show you where you’re going—and even walk with you to make sure you find your way.  On top of that, copies of our campus directory are available online and in the Welcome Center.

In the church I grew up in, some people had "their" seats.  What if I unknowingly sit in somebody's seat?

Don’t worry about it.  Sit wherever you want.  Nobody has a claim on a seat.  In fact, we’ll even let you save seats for your family and friends!

May I bring my venti, three-pump vanilla, two-pump caramel, non-fat, no foam, extra hot, upside-down, stirred, extra-extra caramel drizzle, caramel machiatto into church?

Yes--but only if you bring one for the rest of us.  (Just kidding, of course.  Kinda.)  Yes, you may bring your food and drink with you anywhere you go.  Food and beverages are permitted in the sanctuary.  By the way, why not save your money and get coffee at church?  It’s free and usually comes with a granola bar or muffin.
